As the Coordinator of the Diet and Health Open Innovation and Research Club (OIRC), funded by BBSRC, the British Nutrition Foundation is delighted to let you know about the OIRC 2025 Open Funding Calls Webinar. OIRC is a network of innovation and research hubs providing funding for diet and health proposals that are led by a UK researcher/s and include at least one business stakeholder as a project partner.
The webinar will bring together the OIRC Hub Leads to discuss how collaboration between academics, businesses, policymakers and wider stakeholders is crucial to translating nutrition research into innovative solutions for healthier and more sustainable foods and diets.
If you are involved in nutrition, diet and food science research – in epidemiology, biochemistry, physiology, behavioural science, exercise, technology and more, this webinar may well be of interest to you.
Funding Call Focus Areas

- Improving health and nutrition through biofortification.
- Biological, social and psychological determinants of food choice and eating behaviour.
- Investigating the role of functional food and beverages to improve health and recovery.
- Understanding how food and beverages can deliver improved nutrition across the life course.
