Nutrition Manager
About the National Dairy Council
The National Dairy Council (NDC) is a farmer-funded representative body that advocates for dairy as part of an increasingly sustainably produced food system; as a key component in a healthy balanced diet; and as a sector, indispensable to Ireland’s social and economic wellbeing.
The NDC is currently structured across three pillars: Marketing, Communications & Farm Advocacy; Schools; and Nutrition.
The NDC is seeking an experienced nutrition manager for a permanent role, based at its offices in Dublin.
Role Profile:
A pragmatic, outcome-focused nutrition manager, with excellent research and analytical skills, the successful candidate will have experience in both commissioning new research and in interpreting and collating existing data. He or she will uphold the highest standards of professional practice, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to ethics and integrity.
The nutrition manager must be an excellent communicator, with the ability to distil complicated scientific subjects into easily understood language in oral and written engagement. He or she must speak authoritatively, using the evidence base as proof points in stakeholder discussions.
Collaborative by nature, the candidate must work with colleagues within the nutrition and health promotion community, and with colleagues within the National Dairy Council to support cross-functional projects. The candidate will manage a nutritionist on the team and must therefore have leadership capabilities and a genuine interest in developing others.
Knowledge of dairy nutrition, sustainable food systems and an interest in sports nutrition is desirable.
Knowledge of EU Nutrition & Health Claims legislation is required.
The National Dairy Council particularly values critical thinkers and problem solvers.
Qualifications:
Eligible candidates must hold an honours degree in human nutrition, nutrition science or dietetics. He or she must be a registered nutritionist (AFN), registered dietitian (CORU), or be eligible for such registration. An MSc or PhD in the area of Nutrition and Health is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
The Nutrition Manager will:
• Design, manage and evaluate the nutrition programme at the National Dairy Council.
