
Diabetes Specialist Dietitian
The Bermuda Diabetes Association (BDA) is seeking a Diabetes Specialist Dietitian with a passion for providing medical nutrition counselling and related services to persons with diabetes or at risk of diabetes.
Required Education and Credentials
о Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD).
о Must be Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and/or have a master’s degree in diabetes.
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will have:
о A minimum of five years post qualification experience working predominantly, or exclusively with diabetes and pre-diabetes clients, including Type 1 (pediatric and adult cases), Type 2 and gestational diabetes clients.
о At least three years experience working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver diabetes education and medical nutritional counselling.
о A proven track record of developing and delivering innovative programming to assist clients with improving their diabetes self-management and health outcomes.
о Extensive experience with delivering diabetes education and training to individuals and groups of various sizes.
о Practical experience working with diabetes technology including CGMs and insulin pumps and delivering GLP-1 integrated care.
о Experience creating health promotion and resource collateral - e.g., leaflets, social media content, posters, information booklets, presentations, etc.
о Knowledgeable about clinical guidelines and current research on diabetes and obesity.
о Highly effectively case management skills.
о A proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
о Experience working with electronic health records and strong aptitude for technology adoption.
о Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as time management skills.
The successful candidate must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to provide programs or events.

The Diabetes Specialist Dietitian works as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering programs and services to prevent diabetes, help persons with diabetes improve their self- management of the disease, and prevent or reduce the complications associated with diabetes.
