The Society were delighted to take part in the Royal Society of Public Health's short film for 2019 looking at 'Healthier Environments', and the challenges and opportunities when it comes to improving and protecting the public's health. The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) is an independent health education charity and the world’s longest-established public health body. Their vision is that everyone should have the opportunity to optimise their health and wellbeing.

This year, RSPH and ITN Productions Industry News partnered to co-produce a news and current affairs-style programme 'Healthier Environments' exploring the current public health issues and initiatives that are making a difference across the country.

'Healthier Environments' addresses the fundamental issues concerning public health today, primarily the impact of social media on mental health and the threat from rising levels of obesity. Presented by UK news presenter Natasha Kaplinsky, OBE, ITN Productions Industry News’ global network of leading reporters showcased the work taking place by the wider health workforce to combat these challenges.

The Nutrition Society featured in the film, providing information on how nutrition science and the Society's work is used to help support public health initiatives and to advance the study of nutrition science for human health. You can watch the full film below. The Nutrition Society's segment runs from the 28:33 minute mark until 33:07.

Alternatively, you can watch the 4:41 segment on the Society's YouTube channel.
