The Nutrition Society is delighted to announce Professor Alison Gallagher, Ulster University, as the new Editor-in-Chief of Proceedings of the Nutrition Society (PNS).

Professor Gallagher is currently Head of Doctoral College (Coleraine/Magee) and Professor of Public Health Nutrition at Ulster University. With over 90 peer-reviewed publications she contributes to the research conducted within the Nutrition Innovation Centre for Food and Health (NICHE) at Ulster. Her research interests resonate within the area of obesity and include development of risk factors for disease, low-energy/non-nutritive sweeteners and their potential impact on health, physical activity and health (including implementation of lifestyle interventions at key stages across the lifecycle).

Professor Gallagher commented, ‘As PNS Editor-in-Chief, I am committed to contributing to the development of high-quality scientific meetings through the Science Committee and to see the resulting review papers through to publication. I would also like to see an increase in the number of review papers published from meetings which we jointly deliver with other societies and professional bodies.’

The Society would like to thank Dr Janice Drew, former Editor-in-Chief, for her commitment and hard work in serving PNS.
