The Nutrition Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Wendy Hall, King’s College London, as the new Whole Body Metabolism Theme Lead. Dr Hall replaces Professor Bruce Griffin who was elected Council Member for Academia during the 2018 elections.

Dr Hall (2016 Silver Medal Winner for her research on omega-3 fatty acids) is a Reader in Nutritional Sciences at King’s College London, where she has held an academic position since 2005 following post-doctoral research roles at the Universities of Surrey and Reading.

Her research interests include the effect of dietary fatty acids on markers of cardiovascular disease risk, polyphenols and their impact on postprandial metabolism and cardiometabolic disease risk, and more recently the effect of sleep duration on dietary intake patterns.

The Theme Leaders represent their respective developing areas of nutritional science, acting as the direct link between the membership and the Science Committee.

Dr Hall said “I was very excited to find out that I have been selected for the role of Whole Body Metabolism Theme Leader and I am looking forward to getting involved with the activities of the Nutrition Society, particularly the tasks of the Science Committee. This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to represent the interests of all members with regards to the advancement of knowledge relating to diet, metabolism, and prevention/management of disease.”
