World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) International is now inviting applications for grants worldwide, except the Americas (North America including the USA and Canada, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America) to fund research into the effects of food, nutrition, physical activity and weight management on cancer. WCRF International may co-fund grants with other charities or trusts.

On 1 March 2010 responsibility for the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists was transferred from the Nutrition Society to the Association for Nutrition (AfN), the new professional body for the regulation and registration of nutritionists. The Society no longer deals with any queries in relation to the Register or course accreditation. The Nutrition Society Summer Meeting 2010 was held at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh from 28th June - 1st July 2010. Two Nutrition Society student members were chosen as winners of the best oral and poster original communication presentations during the meeting. The winners are:

The Graduate School VLAG will organise a Master Class "Public health interventions in real-life settings: the AGORA experience", from 8-10 November 2010 in Wageningen, The Netherlands. This Master class is the result of four years of experience with projects in our Academic Collaborative Centre AGORA; a consortium of the Community Health Service Gelre-IJssel and Wageningen University.
