Dr Anne Nugent
A Senior Lecturer in Nutrition at Queens University Belfast (QUB), Anne Nugent BSc (Hons) PhD Pg Dip graduated from Ulster University at Coleraine with a first class Hons degree in Human Nutrition. Following a PhD in nutrition and immunology from Trinity College Dublin, she has worked in a variety of sectors, including non-profit (the British Nutrition Foundation), the food industry and in academia ( Queens University Belfast, University College Dublin). Her research background focuses specifically on national food consumption surveys and associated data including intakes of dietary components such as nutrients and food chemicals. She is a project advisor to the Republic of Ireland’s programme of national food surveys (www.iuna.net). She is a committee member of the Irish Section of the Nutrition Society and the Public Health Nutrition subcommittee at the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
