Helen Munday B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc., RNutr, FIFST

Helen is the Chief Scientific Officer at Food and Drink Federation’s Regulation, Science and Sustainability Team. Helen has a wealth of experience of the food and drink industry, having held senior global roles in companies such as Mars and Coca-Cola over her 25+ year career.  Helen's has a high level of expertise in R&D, including nutrition research and Scientific and Regulatory Affairs as well as Product Development and Innovation.  Helen is a registered nutritionist and Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology.

 

Kate Halliwell MBiochem (Oxon), MSc

Kate is Nutrition and Health Manager at the Food and Drink Federation (FDF), the trade body for food and non-alcoholic drink manufacturers.  At FDF she has responsibility for the development, implementation and promotion of FDF’s nutrition and health and wellbeing policies, ensuring they are underpinned by evidence.   Previously Kate worked for the Department of Health and the Food Standards Agency on a range of nutrition policies, including nutrition labelling, nutrient profiling and healthier catering advice for small and large businesses and local authorities.  Kate sits on the Nutrition Society Council representing industry.

Karen Tonks BSc (hons) MSc

Karen is a Freelance Nutritionist. She worked for Tesco for over 27 years as Company Nutritionist and Head of Labelling providing advice and developing policies on nutrition and health based on the legislation and the available science and evidence.  Primarily responsible for Nutrition, Health, Claims and Labelling policy for Food and Non-Food and developed the technical aspects of customer health initiatives such as the Tesco Healthy Living Brand, Front of Pack Labelling, Free From Brand,  Sweet Free checkouts and the profiling scheme that underpins the Tesco Health Strategy.
