New chair sought for Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is recruiting for a new chair to the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF). ACMSF is a non-statutory committee which assesses the risk to humans of microorganisms which are used, or occur, in food or on food, and advises the FSA on any matters relating to the microbiological safety of food. ACMSF currently meets approximately three times a year in London and meetings are usually half day sessions. An attendance and preparation fee is payable together with travel expenses incurred.
Applicants should ideally be of a national, or preferably international, standing in the field of medicine or science and should have a proven track record and interest in the microbiological safety of food.
