This event will explore the subject of food supplements, “functional” and “superfoods” from a scientific, legislative and commercial perspective.

 

Confusion exists amongst the general public and healthcare professionals regarding the safety, legal status and utility of these categories of foods. The primary objective of this conference is to provide a balanced perspective so participants are better informed and the use of supplements can become exclusively based on their functionality.

A unique aspect of the event is that it will address these products in a sequential way, from how they get on the market (evaluation and approval) and potential claims, to the evidence and guidance on their use, benefits and risks. This will be delivered by authoritative speakers with directly relevant experience from academic research, public health, clinical care and industry.

Since Brexit, all aspects of this process have been evolving, so our speakers will provide attendees with clarity on the best current practice.
