REGISTRATION WITH THE UK VOLUNTARY REGISTER OF NUTRITIONISTS (UKVRN)

About the UKVRN

The Nutrition Society established a Register of Nutritionists to recognise and encourage high standards of professional training in nutrition. The key purpose of the Register is to protect the public.
 
Only individuals who meet high standards in the evidence-based science and professional practice of nutrition can join and stay on our register. The applicant must:

•    Have specialist competencies in nutrition or public health nutrition normally including a BSc (Hons) or MSc in a nutritional science or equivalent. (Equivalence means the ability to show that they have developed the necessary knowledge over many years of professional practice)
•    Follow the Code of Ethics and Statement of Professional Conduct.
•    Work within their own scope of practice using Standards of Competency in either Nutrition (N) or Public Health Nutrition (PHN).
•    Keep up to date through Continuing Professional Development.

 

Our registrants:

Associate Registrants (ANutrs or APHNutrs) are recently qualified graduates from BSc or MSc courses in Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition.
Full Registrants (RNutrs or RPHNutrs) normally have at least 3 years professional experience within the field.
