Health & Wellbeing: Tackling Long Term Conditions
Caring for people with long-term conditions puts enormous strain on our public services, if we continue to treat these conditions in the same way our health services will become unsustainable. There are estimated to be over 15 million people affected by conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, dementia and asthma, and treatment accounts for a staggering seventy per cent of all healthcare spending.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is worldwide and is open to applicants who can demonstrate 'a genuine interest in the science of human or animal nutrition'.
SECTIONS
The Irish Section includes over 250 Nutrition Society members and is chaired by Dr Mary Ward.
The Scottish Section of Nutrition Society has a mailing list of over 300 members and exists to arrange research meetings easily accessible to Scottish Members.
