19th European Congress on Obesity (ECO) 2012
ECO is the official annual congress of the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO), which aims to promote research into obesity, facilitate contact between individuals and organisations, and promote action that tackles the epidemic of obesity.
With the number of people who are obese rising rapidly throughout the world, Obesity is one of the fastest developing public health problems of our time.
Obesity is now seen as a major political and health issue in Europe and the European Congress on Obesity (ECO) provides an essential platform for discussion on the latest scientific developments in the field.
The objectives of the ECO are:
- To provide an annual forum for the dissemination of information about state of the art research in the field of obesity
- To foster the identification of innovative preventive and treatment strategies to reduce the prevalence of obesity and its associated burden of diseases
- To provide networking opportunities for experts in the field of obesity research and management
The scientific programme has been developed by a committee of leading experts.
